25 Days of Beauty: 5 Simple Hair Straightening Tips
1. Wait until your hair is completely dry
I know this one sounds obvious, but we're all guilty of this. We get in a rush and we try to straighten our hair when its still damp.
Two reasons this is a bad idea.
1. It fries your hair worse than straightening does already.
2. You know that steam you see rising off your hair? Yeah, that's the same as being in a sauna for your hair. It's why your hair is so frizzy after your done.
I can only recommend doing this if you have a hair straightener that goes from wet to dry.
2. Always use some kind of heat protector
Another kind of Duh one, but trust me if you want to straighten your hair regularly you need to protect it as much as possible.
Other wise you're going to have scraggly broom ends of hair.
3. Blow your hair with cold air.
Take your hair dryer and blow each section you straighten with cold air. It sets and smooths the hair in place. Also, remember to blow the direction you want the hair to go.
4. Do your hair before your make up
If you straighten your hair before you do your make up, you can avoid that awkward forehead sweat that is going to ruin your bangs and melt your make up off.
You can just pin back your bangs and the hair around your face.
5. Keep your brush with you.
I don't know about the rest of you but if I don't brush my straight hair regularly it tangles. I recommend to brush it regularly to keep it neat for the rest of the day.
